Rebates

Medicare

In order to access medicare rebates, you require a valid referral and mental health treatment plan from your GP or psychiatrist.

You can currently access up to 10 sessions per year under this Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative.

You’ll need to make an appointment with your referring doctor after the 6th session to get a re-referral.

The current medicare rebate for accessing a psychologist is $92.90, which means there is a gap of $97.10 for weekdays, and $107.10 for weekend appointments.

We can process your medicare rebate for you if you’d like. Rebates are typically available in your account 1-3 business days after your appointment.

If you have any questions about medicare rebates, please contact our friendly admin team.

Private Insurance

Most private health funds provide rebates for psychological services under their extras cover. Contact your fund for more information regarding rebates for psychological services. A referral is not required for health insurance rebates.

Payments

We gather your payment information while booking your initial appointment. This information is stored securely using our practice management software. You will not be charged until after your appointment.

Payments are taken from your account shortly after your appointment.

Please contact us if you are unable to pay with the methods provided.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy
Sometimes there are good reasons for cancelling or rescheduling appointments. If, for some reason you need to cancel or reschedule the appointment, please provide us at least 24 hours notice, otherwise you will be charged as per our schedule of fees listed above.

While we endeavour to remind you of your appointments through email reminders, these should not be relied upon and it is your responsibility to remember appointments you have made.

Cancellation fees will be charged using the credit card details stored in our securing booking system Halaxy.

Please note that Medicare or health insurance rebates are not applicable to cancellation fees.

There is no charge for rescheduling appointments if you let us know more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment (not including weekends and Australian public holidays).

Please note that emailing is the most effective way to ensure we receive appropriate notice. You are welcome to leave a message outside of business hours if it is more than 24 hours from your appointment.

We believe in affordable and accessible mental healthcare, however, we also believe in paying psychologists a fair rate for their time and work.

Outside of the 50 minute counselling sessions, psychologists also need to prepare a number of reports to your referrer, write case notes as well as spend time preparing for your sessions.

To ensure that you receive a good quality service and the best possible care, we only see a limited number of clients per day. Given the nature of our work, we also want to ensure that we are taking regular breaks throughout the day to avoid burnout and look after our own mental health.

As a private practice, we do not receive any government funding. If you have concerns about this, please contact us for a confidential discussion.
